| Fire Detection & Emergency Lighting Most commercial, industrial and increasingly domestic premises are required to have a fire alarm system installed. The system is better described as a fire detection & alarm system, as it's primary function is firstly to detect a fire or fire condition, and secondly to sound audible alarms in all of part of the building. This can be combined with an emergency lighting installation to aid visibility when exiting the premises’ in a fire emergency. ECL has a wealth of experience in fire detection systems. ECL, in conjunction with it's partners, can design, install and maintain any level of fire alarm system. We can supply all the leading makes of fire detection and control equipment, from simple conventional devices to the complex analogue addressable systems. We also supply other products such as emergency lighting, signage and a range of security products. New fire detection systems have to be commissioned to verify that they have been appropriately installed, tested and comply with industry standards including BS5839. Without an official fire certificate of commissioning, the system would not be deemed as acceptable by the relevant authorities. At ECL, we include testing and commissioning in our overall estimate, to make sure there are no additional costs or hidden surprises. ECL also has experience in the design and installation of Emergency Lighting Systems for commercial and industrial premises. All designs comply with BS 5266, the Code of Practice for the emergency lighting of premises.
